Program Description:

This study center program examines challenges shaping Morocco today, such as authoritarian rule, Islamic movements, civil society, and constitutional reforms following the 2011 Arab Spring. Participants in this program will also get the opportunity to discuss current events and hear a local perspective through discussions with Moroccan university students. As part of the coursework, students will learn Arabic as well as completing an independent study project, where they can tailor the curriculum to their interests. As a required piece of this program, students will experience two homestays; one in the city of Rabat, and another with a host family in the northern part of the country.
