In this program, facilitated by IFSA-Butler, students enroll directly in the University of New South Wales, known as "Australia's most international campus," and ranked as one of the best universities in Australia. There are thousands of courses available to choose from in a variety of disciplines. Students live in on-campus and off-campus student apartments. While living in Sydney, students experience the diversity and vibrancy that the city has to offer via an excellent public transportation systems. UNSW is within walking distance to some of Sydney's beautiful beaches, like the popular Coogee Beach.
Vanderbilt Study Abroad In-Person Course Policy
Vanderbilt students are required to participate in this program based on the official program dates listed on IFSA’s website. Students who study abroad at IFSA UNSW during the Spring term must attend the January session starting in early January. Vanderbilt’s policy supersedes IFSA’s guidelines. Students may not enroll in courses that are delivered in any remote or multimodal/hybrid capacity. Vanderbilt requires students to only enroll in courses that are delivered in-person.
Vanderbilt Study Abroad Housing Policy
To experience the full nature of a study abroad program, and consistent with the spirit of the Vanderbilt University Residential Requirement, Vanderbilt students are required to live in program-arranged housing. Starting with Spring 2027, students will be
required to live in IFSA housing. Independent housing
will not be an option. Please talk with your study abroad advisor if you have further questions.
