Visa for Internship & Service Internship Programs:

For internship tracks, all U.S. students (and most non-UK nationals) are required to obtain a UK Student Visa in advance. This is because internships are considered structured work/placement activity under UK immigration rules.

Application process generally includes:
  • Online visa application
  • Biometrics appointment
  • Submission of passport and supporting documents
  • Processing time of ~6–8 weeks

Visa for Study Program:

U.S. passport holders typically do NOT need a visa for the Study Only program track. However, travelers must complete a pre-travel authorization (ETA) before departure. This requires downloading an app, submitting an application, and paying a fee. As of April 8, 2026, ETAs will cost £20.

Non-U.S. citizens will most likely need to apply for a visa after getting accepted into the program. Students can use this passport checker to see if their citizenship requires a visa for studying in the UK.

*If students study abroad in the UK for longer than one semester, then a visa is required.

Housing

Students are placed in furnished student housing or shared apartments located throughout London, providing a comfortable and independent living experience.
