Program Description:
In this study center program, students study music in Milan, a city that has been at the forefront of musical innovation.

IES Milan has partnerships with the Civica Scuola di Musica, La Verdi Symphonic Choir and Orchestra, and more, where students can work with world-class musicians and take an individual instrument or voice instruction. They can even enroll in a music-related internship or a community-based learning opportunity with an accompanying academic seminar.

On top of studying composition and theory, students will take a required Italian course and have opportunities to join ensembles and choirs. 3-day excursions are included in this program, as well as course-related trips. Students choose between apartments, residence halls, and homestays while living in Milan.

VISA NOTICE:

Beginning January 10, 2025, every student must visit their local Consulate to be fingerprinted.

The new requirement means students will need to personally travel to an Italian Consulate and secure individual in-person appointments. Batch processing will not be an option, and this will increase overall visa costs as well. At present, the Italian government is still working with their Consulates to establish the new procedures, which likely won't be made public until sometime in early January 2025.
