Program Description:

While studying in Ushuaia, the southern-most city in the world, students will apply scientific research methods to identify the impact of climate change on Patagonia and Antarctica. Students will focus on climate change specifically in relation to human activity, and how it affects marine life and maritime communication routes. As a part of their course, students will participate in a ten day trip to Antarctica with researchers. Students will in live in a homestay with a local family for eight weeks and take all coursework in Spanish. In addition to their coursework, students will complete either an independent study project or an internship.

Eligible students will have completed three semesters of college-level Spanish.
