Program Description:
This study center program examines factors driving internal and international migration in Morocco and elsewhere in North and sub-Sahara Africa. Participants in this program will learn and study the impact of migration through discussions with asylum seekers, Syrian refugees, Moroccan immigrants in Europe; visits to local and international NGOs; as well as travels within Morocco and to the Netherlands. As part of the coursework, students will learn Arabic as well as completing an independent study project or an internship, where they can tailor the curriculum to their interests. As a required piece of this program, students will live with a middle-or-working class family in or around Rabat's seventeenth-century medina.
