Program Description:

Administered by the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Academic Year in Freiburg program (AYF) is located in the heart of Freiburg in southern Germany. Freiburg is known as one of the world’s greenest cities, mixing a sustainable ecosystem with a charming old-town feel. The city offers a variety of cultural activities, and because of its proximity to the Black Forest, there are numerous recreational activities. The program begins with a month-long intensive German Language course. At the start of the academic year, students choose from a variety of courses in diverse subject matters, such as German, History, Art History, Philosophy, Humanities, Sociology, Political Science, Business, Economics and more through the Albert-Ludwigs Universitat.  Students also enroll in AYF-designed courses and participate in internships. Students live in apartment-style dormitories with private bedrooms and shared kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces.
